Witness on the Way

A Retreat on Zoom

Friday, April 18, 2025

9 AM - 12:30 PM (PST) | 11 AM - 2:30 PM (CST) | 12 PM - 3:30 PM (EST)

Good Friday Reflection

This Good Friday let us be intentional about setting aside time to meditate on Christ's Passion. Join us for WITNESSES ON THE WAY, a communal, prayerful reflection on the people and the events of that day. From Jesus’ sentencing before Pilate to his being laid in the tomb, various individuals are a part of his journey. During our time together each of us will be given one of these witnesses as a way to enter into the story with the eyes and heart of someone who was there. Together we will learn about and share our witnesses using Scripture, quiet reflection, prayer, group sharing, and creative process. We will close our time together by gathering our stories into the larger narrative of the Passion, praying our way to the cross and tomb.

Because this retreat is an interactive experience, the deadline to register is Tuesday, April 15th for planning purposes.

Kathleen MacInnis Kichline

Kathleen grew up the eldest of seven sisters and followed her heart into lay ministry in the church at a time when such a thing was just becoming.  Perhaps she was destined to forever fascinate in the intersection of women’s stories and God’s invitation.  She received her Masters of Divinity from Seattle University where she later served as adjunct faculty for seven years, teaching a course on spiritual retreats.  She also served many years as Pastoral Associate and Faith Formation Director in several parishes in western Washington.  In that setting, she developed scripture studies for women out of which grew her first two books, SISTERS IN SCRIPTURE: Exploring the Relationships of Biblical Women and NEVER ON SUNDAY: A Look at the Women NOT in the Lectionary.  Her most recent book is WHY THESE WOMEN: Four Stories You Need to Read Before You Read the Story of Jesus.
